Latest Statistics of the Staffing and Recruitment Industry in Florida

The staffing and recruitment industry plays a major role in the business environment of the United States by ensuring that the right people are getting the right jobs. The industry drives productivity in economy by having the right minds focusing on the relevant problems.

Staffing companies offer a wide variety of services ranging from human resource consulting, outplacement and outsourcing, permanent placing, contract hiring to temporary hiring. The industry has seen tremendous economic growth over the past few years based on its success.

The workforce solutions industry provided amazing career and job opportunities for nearly 17 million people a year. Out of those, 76% of them work full time, 49% of them are of the view that it is a great way to get a permanent job and 90% were of the view that staffing work increased their chances of getting a job. 35% of them were offered a permanent job by a client where they used to work.

Approximately 20,000 recruiting and staffing companies are present in the US, which operate approximately 39,000 offices in total. Around 74% of offices and 55% of companies are in the sector that handles temporary and contract staffing. The sales of the entire industry spiked up by 3.9% in 2018, reaching $167 billion.

Contract staffing and temporary sales summed up to $138.5 billion in 2018, according to the latest annual data from the ASA Staffing Employment and Sales Survey, which is a spike of 3.4% over 2017. Search and placement sales went up by 6.3% in 2018, according to Staffing Industry Analysts. With these statistics in mind, it can be seen that search and placement sales totaled $28.4 billion in 2018.

Combining the two shows that U.S. staffing industry sales totaled $166.9 billion in 2018, which is 3.9% more than in 2017. Search and placement sales accounted for 17.0% of total staffing and recruiting industry sales in 2018.

If the Florida staffing statistics are studied in detail, it can be seen that the staffing companies employed nearly 856,100 employees in 2017. An overview of the 2017 staffing statistics of Florida shows that the average temporary help workers each week amounted to 176,000. The total annual sales amounted to $9.2 billion. The approximate number of offices amounted to 2,340 and the average annual earnings per job were equal to $37,200.

It can also be seen that the Florida Temporary help sector sales were 21% from the engineering, IT and scientific sector, 32% from the healthcare sector, 7% from the industrial sector, 12% from the administrative and office-clerical sector, 4% from the professional-managerial sector and 24% from uncategorized sectors.

Apart from that, the approximate temporary employees per week contracted to 3.2 million in 2017. The average tenure lasted 10.7 weeks whereas mean employment was 15.5 million. The average annual earnings per job amounted to $37,700 and the temporary staffing sales amounted to $ 133.9 billion. The approximate number of offices amounted to 35,510.
