How Technology is disrupting the Staffing Industry

Remember back in the old days when you were looking for employment and you had to buy a newspaper and go through classified ads to find a decent job? Most likely, you ended up with no luck and dirty hands from all the ink that went from the newspaper to your fingers. Thanks to technology those days are long and gone. Nowadays, don’t have to run down to your nearest grocery store to do that. All you have to do in order to find prospective jobs is to turn on a computer, get online and search through the numerous job websites. And you could do it in your pajamas and not have to get your hands dirty.

“Technology has had its manipulating fingers in every industry. It revolutionized the music business, turned the publishing industry upside-down and have certainly changed the way the staffing industry conducts its business,” Adecco USA states on its blog.

Here’s how technology is influencing the staffing industry:

Optimize for mobile technology

People are using their phones more than ever and more people use their Smartphone for data then for actually conversations. Apps are the biggest ways staffing agencies are using to staying up-to-date with trends. With apps, they are not just staying up-to-date with trends they are also using them to obtain large amounts of data that would have taken tremendous amount of hours to do back in the day.

“It may (or may not) surprise you that 90 percent of job seekers use mobile devices to conduct key functions when looking for their next career opportunity. That means it’s critical that your website is optimized for today’s Smartphone technology. A mobile-friendly, responsive website is vital to winning the talent war, as candidates expect employers to harness Smartphone technology to expedite the application process,”  Business2Community states on its website.

Social media engagement

One of the most popular things that people do on their Smartphone is logging onto Facebook and Instagram and checking what their friends are up to. We as a staffing agency are doing just the same. Constantly checking out prospective candidates’ social media profiles, posting, commenting and direct messaging to see who are the best fit for our clients’ needs.

Recruiting marketing

Staffing agencies are also using the Internet to improve their brands’ presence. If you don’t have a Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or other social media profile than you are doing harm to your company. Blogging is another effective marketing tool. When implemented correctly, staffing agencies can spontaneously get their footprints in the industry.

RMG Staffing has been able to stay ahead of the game because we predicted technology’s influence in the industry since the early beginnings. As a client of ours, your business will receive exceptional service and will make sure your brand is aligned with the constant advancement of technology.
