On the Scene with RMG Staffing: Pegasus World Cup Invitational 2018

South Florida is known for great beaches, wonderful restaurants, and pulsating nightlife. Now thanks to The Stronach Group, we are also being recognized for world-class horse racing. On Saturday January 27, Stronach Group held its second annual Pegasus World Cup Invitational horse race at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach. In front of an excited 10,000-plus record-breaking crowd, 12 horses and their jockeys competed for a $16 million prize. Fans, celebrities, politicians, Miami influencers were there to witness jockey Florent Geroux and his horse Gun Runner win the race in an amazing finish.

“The crowd, the entertainment, the fans and of course, our human and equine athletes made this an electric day from early morning into the evening,” Gulfstream’s General Manager Bill Badgett stated in a press release. “The Stronach Group continues to revolutionize the experience of attending a thoroughbred race. We want to thank the wonderful fans and horsemen throughout the world. We feel the Pegasus World Cup Invitational will continue to grow, attract and engage even more of the world’s best horses.”

Celebrities in attendance included super producer and former judge of NBC’s The Voice Pharrell Williams, rock star Lenny Kravitz, rappers Post Malone and Ludacris, actress Olivia Culpo, CBS’ NCIS actor Wilmer Valderrama and Latin superstar Prince Royce to name a few. Florida Governor Rick Scott also attended the event.  RMG Staffing was definitely there.

Our excellent team serviced the private celebrity VIP cabanas at the event. Starr Catering and Design Cuisine provided the delicious meals that highlighted the extraordinary dining experiences we were honored to be a part of.

“It was another great night in South Florida,” RMG Staffing’s President Ricardo Michelangeli stated. “Gulfstream is a world-renowned destination and we were very happy that our staff contributed to their continued excellence in bringing the top horse racing competition to South Florida.”

Guests enjoyed drinks from Absolut Elyx, Perrier-Jouët and Heineken as they witnessed the exciting race. King of Miami nightlife David Grutman brought out the LIV Boardwalk Village Pop-Up. Porsche Ultimate featured their exclusive high-end sports cars. The glaring atmosphere was enough to make you think you were in an extravagant scene from Leonardo DiCaprio’s “The Great Gatsby” film. After the race, attendees were blessed with a performance by rapper/ singer Post Malone, hosted by Ludacris with spin doctor DJ Ruckus.

“The 2018 Pegasus World Cup Invitational was everything we hoped for and more”, said Belinda Stronach, Chairman, and President, The Stronach Group. “It brought together an energetic and diverse crowd, that combined thousands of new fans with our traditional fan base for a day of world-class entertainment and Thoroughbred horse racing like no other.”

Broadcasted live on NBC, The Pegasus World Cup Invitational is the richest horse race produced by The Stronach Group. They are one of the preeminent horse racetrack operators and suppliers of pari-mutuel wagering technology. In addition to their property at Gulfstream, the company operates various racetrack across America and is a leader in thoroughbred racehorse breeders, having produced numerous Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup champions. We can’t wait for the return of Pegasus World Cup Invitational in 2019 at Gulfstream Park.
