If there’s one thing Miami does well, it’s galas… and on April 1st, the Magic City threw the see-and-be-seen gala of the year. Hosted by the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), this event, Art of the Party presented by Valentino, is the museum’s largest fundraiser.

It makes sense when you find out why—not only did the event pay homage to contemporary artist Lorna Simpson (a woman whose work has been vitally important to the evolution of PAMM for the last twenty years), but it featured an exclusive Chef’s Table seated dinner, a Supper Club Lounge and the “Remix” after-party (all three of which were conceptualized by Miami favorite Lee Brian Schrager); attracted 1,000 of the art world’s most exemplary philanthropists and connoisseurs; and included culinary collaborations by two of the greats, STARR Catering Group and Chef Michael Schwartz.
If that weren’t enough, the second-floor exhibits turned into a chic interactive art studio with live music by DJ Phaxas, a virtual reality painting activation, and portrait artists. When the after-party kicked off, so did the sweets: tables piled high with local treats from Azucar Ice Cream Company, Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop, Madruga Bakery, MdoughW, and Michael’s Genuine® Food & Drink.
And with all that, everyone was in attendance: from Usher, Princess Firyal of Jordan, and Miami Heat player Justise Winslow, to singer Justine Skye, Ana Navarro, and the Mayor of Miami-Dade County, Carlos A. Giménez. It was by far the most successful installment of this annual event, with the most guests recorded in attendance, and raised $1.1M for PAMM’s robust education program, which just happens to be the largest outside the Miami-Dade County school system.

From setting up and breaking down the venue, serving guests and working the bar, to serving food, playing host or hostess, directing guests to their appropriate table, and above all, making sure VIPs and celebrities feel comfortable and welcoming, we were there on hand to provide anything the organizers (or the guests!) needed. This event took place on Saturday, April 1st, at 6:30 p.m. Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is located at 1103 Biscayne Boulevard, right on Biscayne Bay.
